Burglary Suspect
Mesa Police need you help identifying this burglary suspect. We believe he is responsible for at least four vehicle burglaries in West Mesa on December 8th of this year. We were able to obtain these photos from surveillance cameras both from the crime scene and where the suspect used the stolen credit cards. The suspect is described as a male in his mid-twenties, light complexion with a thin build, about 5’7” tall and 120 LBS, wearing a brown checkered shirt. He was last seen driving this stolen car (Buick Enclave) and used a victim’s credit card at a local fast food drive through. Assault and Arrest
On 11-17-15 at 10:06 pm, a victim was involved in an altercation that resulted in
him being chased by two vehicles in the area of 800 S. Frasier to 600 S.
Bellview in Mesa. At some point during the chase, the suspects were able to run the victim
off the road and, once he exited his vehicle, shots were fired at him, striking
his vehicle. The suspects fled the area. The victim was found hiding in a
nearby apartment and was found to have concealed a significant amount of
methamphetamine and marijuana prior to police arrival. Probable cause exists to
charge one suspect in the shooting. The victim was booked for drug related
charges. The Gang Unit was on scene for the incident and took the lead in the
investigation.

Media Release - Robbery Suspects Arrested
Mesa Police Detectives have arrested three suspects in conjunction with a series of Armed Robberies over the past week. Jessica Rotar, Melissa Gregg and Matthew Lybarger have all been arrested in association with the crimes.
The robberies began on November 4, 2015 when a shopper was held up at gunpoint in the parking lot of WinCo Foods on South Power Rd. The suspect presented a handgun and demanded the victim's purse. In each crime, the female suspect was wearing a mask and held up the victims at gunpoint. Once the items were stolen, the female would flee in a waiting vehicle. Over the next three days, the suspects committed 4 more robberies in the same way at East Mesa shopping centers.
Due to the dangerous and violent nature of the crimes, Mesa Detectives were working around the clock to identify and apprehend the suspects. On the evening of November 7, 2015 at 8:20 pm, detectives located and arrested the three suspects. During the service of a search warrant, items belonging to the victims were recovered from the suspect's residence.
The Suspects were booked for the following crimes:
Jessica Rotar - 3 counts Armed Robbery, 1 count Attempted Armed Robbery
Melissa Gregg - 1 count Armed Robbery, 1 count Attempted Armed Robbery
Matthew Lybarger - 1 count Armed Robbery, 1 count Attempted Armed Robbery, Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Media Release - Physical Therapist Charged with Sexual Abuse

On October 6, 2015, the Mesa Police Department received two reports from two female victims alleging inappropriate touching during a physical therapy session performed by David Fairbourn. After the allegations, interviews were conducted which lead to the probable cause for his arrest. Fairbourn was charged with ten counts of Sexual Abuse and booked into the Mesa Police holding facility.
The investigation is still ongoing and it is unknown if there are any other outstanding victims. As with any investigation, persons who may have information regarding this case are encouraged to contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211, option 2.

Media Release - 2005 Cold Case Homicide Arrest

Wightman was arrested in the city of Belle Plaine, MN with the assistance of local law enforcement, including the Scott County Sheriff's Department. He is being held in the Scott County jail awaiting extradition back to Arizona.
Police Chief John Mesa stated, "I am proud of all the department members involved with this investigation. Their commitment and perseverance has brought another perpetrator to justice, this being the third cold case solved this year. This is a prime example of our department's unrelenting pursuit to public safety."
