Due to an observant citizen informing a nearby officer about a robbery in progress, the suspect was arrested.

On May 14, 2017 officers were on an unrelated call on the southeast corner of Mesa Drive and Southern Avenue when a woman approached them saying the convenience store across the street was being robbed and provided a suspect description. The officer's vehicle was stopped on the roadway with its overhead emergency lights on and could clearly be seen from the convenience store.
