Detectives have been working overnight on a suspicious death call at the Colonade Motel, 5440 E. Main St. The Homicide Unit stated the investigation appears to be a homicide. There are not many details at this point. The victim is an adult female and the reporting party/investigative lead is an adult male. The homicide appears drug related and isolated to the victim and investigative lead. No arrests have been made at this time. We will provide an update when new information is available.

Over
the past week, Detectives have continued to work this death
investigation. Yesterday evening, October 10, 2017, Allan Fredrick
Lindstrom, age 51, was arrested and charged with one count of 2nd Degree
Murder, ARS 13-1104. The victim has been identified as Sharon
Vaulding, age 50.
Lindstrom originally reported
finding the victim not breathing on the evening of October 2, 2017.
When officers arrived at the scene, she was clearly deceased and the
cause of death was undetermined. The case was examined by the Maricopa
County Medical Examiner's Office and ruled a homicide. The information
from the Medical Examiner indicated that victim had been stabbed and
beaten. Detectives linked physical and DNA evidence to Lindstrom
leading to his arrest.
Lindstrom did not provide statements about the crime and has been booked for the listed charge.
