On March 27, 2018, Mesa Police Detectives arrested Samantha Poirier, age 18, for Sexual Abuse and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
On March 26, 2018, Detectives were made aware of possible abuse by Poirier on a 13-year-old autistic student. Poirier is a School Bus aide and rides the bus along with the students. Information was developed that Poirier had kissed the victim and allow him to touch her breast beneath her clothing. The victim and suspect were both interviewed about the allegations. During the interview, Poirier admitted to her involvement in the crimes.
Crimes against children and vulnerable adults are always of high priority for the Mesa Police Department. Detectives swiftly investigated the allegations in this case and were able to make an arrest stopping the potential for future victims to be harmed.
Poirier was booked for one count of Sexual Abuse, ARS 13-1404A, a class 3 Felony and one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, ARS 13-3613A, a class 1 Misdemeanor.
