The motorcycle failed to yield and the suspect fled eastbound on the Red Mountain Freeway (202) at a high rate of speed. Officers obtained the motorcycles registration information, ultimately enabling them to locate the suspect at his residence an hour later. The suspect admitted to knowing our officers were behind him attempting to conduct a traffic stop, but he said he could not afford another ticket and his license was suspended.
The suspect's motorcycle was located nearby parked on a residential street where the suspect was attempting to conceal it from police. The suspect was booked into the Mesa City Jail for Felony Unlawful Flight.
