What is Car Hopping? Car Hopping is a crew of two to five (2-5) thieves slowly walking down the street, quickly checking vehicle doors while a driver follows along for a quick getaway.

Suspects have told investigators this type of criminal activity can provide up to $1,500 in profit by stealing your valuables in one night and about one in fifty (50) vehicles will have a firearm inside. During the first three months of this year in Mesa, approximately 63% of the vehicle burglaries had an unsecured vehicle.
