Robbery - Arrest

On April 6, 2018 Mesa Police Officers responded to a fight call at 250 W 5th Street in Mesa, AZ. Officers arrived and quickly learned this was not a fight but was rather a robbery and assault call. The victims were a mother and daughter who just returned home and were attempting to enter their residence when a male suspect with a stocking mask ran up to them and pepper sprayed both of them in their face and then physically assaulted them. The suspect eventually reached into a purse and stole a wallet and cash before fleeing the scene. During the struggle one of the victims pulled on the stocking mask and both victims recognized the suspect as a known male named David Garcia.

Officers responded and both victims positively identified 35 year old Garcia as the suspect. Within a few hours Officers located Garcia at his residence where he was detained and ultimately admitted to being present at the scene. Garcia has been charged with one count of Robbery and one count of Assault. Great work and follow up by all involved, a violent robber was arrested within hours of committing the offense and the victims can have some closure to their experience.
