Attempt to Identify Shoplifting/Aggravated Assault Suspect
SUSPECT HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!
On January 16 at 6:30pm, the pictured female subject entered the Wal-Mart located at 1606 S Signal Butte and selected some makeup valued at $12. She was later observed concealing the makeup in a purse she was carrying. The female was contacted by store loss prevention, after she passed all points of sale without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise concealed in her purse. Upon contact, the female ran from loss prevention, who continued to follow her. The female subject pulled what appeared to be a handgun from her purse and fired a warning shot in an upward direction. She then continued to walk northbound and fired another shot in the air. At this point loss prevention stopped following her.
She is a White female, blonde hair, 5'3" - 5'5" tall, 130-140 lbs. She was wearing a black shirt, black paints, black boots and a red hair tie. Vehicle involved is a white PT Cruiser.

Media Release - Public Assistance Needed to Identify Burglary Suspects

On December 5, 2014, Mesa Police began investigating a set of six residential burglaries in the area of Broadway Road to Southern Avenue and Val Vista Drive to Greenfield Road.. The suspects forced their way into multiple homes stealing electronics, guns, cash and jewelry. Only one victim reported being at home when the suspects attempted an entry. That victim scared the burglars off and they fled the scene. Other witnesses reported having these suspects knock on their door asking for directions.
The suspects were described as follows:
#1- Hispanic male 18-years-old, wearing a T-shirt with "Industrial" on it.
#2- Hispanic male 18-years-old, wearing a gray hoodie sweater.
Vehicle description: Dark colored 4-door vehicle (possibly Nissan Altima) with spoiler and 5-spoke wheels. This vehicle was seen on this incident and also another similar incident on December 11, 2014.

Second Suspect Arrested In Child Abuse Case
Jimmy M. Vanater has now been arrested in relation to a child abuse case. Vanater contacted the Mesa Police and came in for an interview. Based on the investigation, he was arrested for (5) counts of child abuse. Raecherl Chidester, the mother of the child, had already been arrested for (9) counts of child abuse related to the case.

Media Release - Child Prostitution Arrests

The suspects arrested ranged in age from 26 to 49 years old. Subsequent to the arrest, all of the suspects admitted that they knew they were coming to the location to have sex with a 16 year old female. Through the investigation, it was also learned that Solomon Bandiho is a Catholic Priest at a local parish in Mesa.
Crimes involving children are of the highest priority for the Mesa Police Department. Operations of this type have shown time and again to be successful and remove dangerous child predators from our community.
All of the suspect were transported and booked for Child Prostitution. 13-3212.B.2, a class 2 Felony.
