Media Release - Robbery Suspects Arrested

Mesa Police Detectives have arrested three suspects in conjunction with a series of Armed Robberies over the past week. Jessica Rotar, Melissa Gregg and Matthew Lybarger have all been arrested in association with the crimes.

The robberies began on November 4, 2015 when a shopper was held up at gunpoint in the parking lot of WinCo Foods on South Power Rd. The suspect presented a handgun and demanded the victim's purse. In each crime, the female suspect was wearing a mask and held up the victims at gunpoint. Once the items were stolen, the female would flee in a waiting vehicle. Over the next three days, the suspects committed 4 more robberies in the same way at East Mesa shopping centers.

Due to the dangerous and violent nature of the crimes, Mesa Detectives were working around the clock to identify and apprehend the suspects. On the evening of November 7, 2015 at 8:20 pm, detectives located and arrested the three suspects. During the service of a search warrant, items belonging to the victims were recovered from the suspect's residence.

The Suspects were booked for the following crimes:

Jessica Rotar - 3 counts Armed Robbery, 1 count Attempted Armed Robbery

Melissa Gregg - 1 count Armed Robbery, 1 count Attempted Armed Robbery
