Verizon Wireless Store Robberies

Case Number 20162400621

On August 28 at 7:15pm, the suspect, carrying a silver baseball bat, entered the Verizon Wireless store at 1242 E McKellips, closed and locked the front door. The suspect walked up to the victim, took the victim's cell phone and told the victim to lock himself in the bathroom. The suspect then took the cash drawer and left on foot.

The suspect is described as male, 5'10" to 5'11" tall, 150 lbs., wearing a mask, sunglasses, Cincinnati Reds baseball hat, black basketball shorts, black shoes and a long-sleeved black shirt.

On August 29 at 9:23am, the suspect, carrying a butcher knife, entered the Verizon Wireless store at 4545 E McKellips and pointed the knife at the victim. Suspect told the victim to open the safe. Suspect took money and several cell phones, asked the victim which phone had the tracker and left that phone in the safe. The suspect put the money and phones in a pillow case and left the store on foot.

This suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5'6" - 5'8" tall, 160 lbs. mid 20s, wearing a dark bandana, sunglasses, Washington Nationals baseball hat, white button up long-sleeved shirt, dark jeans and white latex gloves.

Attempt to Identify - Armed Robbery

**  UPDATE:  SUSPECT WAS IDENTIFIED AND ARRESTED ON DECEMBER 13, 2016. **

On August 23 at 12:38pm, the suspect entered the Econolodge Inn & Suites at 951 W Main Street, jumped the counter, displayed a knife and demanded money from the front desk clerk. The suspect was given a known amount of U.S. current, then ran on foot.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, 5'7" to 5'8" tall, slim build, black hair. He was wearing a white plastic construction hat, blue bandana covering his face, a plaid long-sleeved shirt, orange traffic vest and dark colored pants.

Attempt to Identify - Trailer Theft

On August 13 at approximately 2:30pm, the pictured Dodge Ram entered the parking lot in the 3300 block of North Reseda and approached the victim's parked, enclosed trailer. Twenty minutes later, the Dodge was seen leaving the lot with the stolen trailer. Inside the trailer was a 2003 Yamaha YZ125 and a 2003 Yamaha TT-R125 (dirt bikes).

The truck is described as a silver, 2003-2009 Dodge Ram,2500 or 3500 model, 4WD or lifted.

Attempt to Identify - Robbery Suspect

On August 15 at 1:15pm, the suspect shown stole two 30-packs of Bud Light from the Corner Store in the 1500 block of East University. The employee followed him out into the parking lot, at which time the suspect dropped the beer and punched the employee in the face. The suspect and driver retrieved the beer and drove off west bound on University.

The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male, 20-25 years old, 5' 8" tall, 185 lbs. Wearing a brown T-shirt, red shorts and white Nike tennis shoes.

The driver is a White male.

The vehicle is a White two-door passenger car, described as a Chevrolet Cavalier.

Attempt to Identify - Theft

On March 19, 2016 at approximately 7:30pm, an individual walked into Serrano's Restaurant located in the 1900 block of E McKellips Rd, and asks to use the restroom. As he exits the restaurant he takes a purse from a chair belonging to a customer sitting at a table. As he runs out the door he pushes another customer out of the way. Two credit cards belonging to the victim were used at O' Reilly's, Fry's, and CVS. The CVS surveillance shows two subjects.

Subject in the striped shirt could possibly be the subject at Serrano's who took the purse. The second subject was not at Serrano's, but did use the stolen card at all three locations. Both subjects pictured below attempted to use the stolen credit cards.

Subject 1- Hispanic male, approximately 30 years old, black hair, wearing a black shirt, black pants and black baseball cap.

Subject 2- Hispanic male, approximately 30 years old, short black hair, red sweatshirt, jeans, black tennis shoes.

The vehicle is described as a black 4-door passenger car with shiny chrome rims and dark tinted windows.
