Sexual Exploitation of a Minor Arrest

Daniel Alvarez
On October 25, 2016, Mesa Police Detectives arrested Daniel Alvarez for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Alvarez became the subject of investigation in June when detectives received a tip that he may be sending out images of child pornography.

Over the course of three months, detectives established contact with Alvarez through investigative means and he sent child pornography images to detectives as well. Based on the images, a search warrant was obtained and Alvarez was located and arrested at his home in Phoenix. When interviewed after his arrest, Alvarez admitted to sending the child pornography images and viewing additional child porn sites.

Alvarez was booked for two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a class 2 Felony. This is an excellent example of a community member providing a tip to detectives leading to the arrest of a dangerous criminal. Any crimes that exploit or endanger children are always of the highest priority to the Mesa Police Department.
