Media Release - Public Assistance Needed to Identify Attempted Sexual Assault Suspect

The Mesa Police Department is seeking assistance with identifying a suspect in an attempted sexual assault. The incident occurred on Saturday, February 28, in the area of Horne and 2nd Avenue. The female victim was approached by the suspect while in a parking lot in the area.

The victim and suspect struggled and she was able to get away and contact the authorities. The suspect fled the scene, but was not located. The suspect was described as a White male with leathery skin, 30-years-old, 5'5” to 5'8” tall, 140-160 pounds, buzz cut blond hair and yellowish teeth with gaps. He was last seen wearing jeans, navy blue hooded sweater and a black tank-top.

Mesa detectives have been working the case, but are seeking assistance with identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211, option 2 at the main menu, or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
