Robbery Suspect Arrested

Due to an observant citizen informing a nearby officer about a robbery in progress, the suspect was arrested.

On May 14, 2017 officers were on an unrelated call on the southeast corner of Mesa Drive and Southern Avenue when a woman approached them saying the convenience store across the street was being robbed and provided a suspect description. The officer's vehicle was stopped on the roadway with its overhead emergency lights on and could clearly be seen from the convenience store.

Other officers blocked the east entrance of the store and could see the counter area. After seeing the suspect start to physically fight with the clerk, officers entered the store, removed the clerk from the fight and detained the suspect. The suspect was later booked.
