Media Release - East Mesa Burglaries

The Mesa Police Department would like the community to be aware of two burglary incidents that occurred on May 30, 2015 in the area of Baseline and Ellsworth in Mesa. Both incidents occurred in the early morning hours between 1:00am and 4:00am.

An unknown white male suspect between 20-25 years old, 5'6 - 5'10 tall, 140-150 lbs. was able to gain entry into two separate residences. In both cases, entry was gained through a door or window. It is not clear if the doors and windows were locked at the time. Once inside, the suspect moved throughout the home while the residents were sleeping. Eventually the residents were awakened and the suspect fled the area. At this time it is unknown if any items were taken from the homes. No one was injured in either case.

With the nice evening temperatures, we would like to remind residents to secure their doors and windows at night. Also, anyone who may have seen a suspicious male in their neighborhood near Baseline and Ellsworth on May 30 is encouraged to contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211, option 2, or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.

Information on securing your homes can be found at http://www.mesaaz.gov/residents/police/divisions/crime-prevention/literature.
