24 Hour Exceptional Incident Report

On July 8 at 10:32 am, officers were dispatched to a robbery call. Three male suspects had met with the two victims to purchase a computer. Two of the suspects exited their vehicle with handguns drawn. They pointed the guns at the victims and struck the male victim in the head, causing injuries. They stole a laptop and a wallet from the victims before they left in their vehicle. An officer spotted the vehicle on U.S. 60 as it traveled westbound. Mesa PD Air Unit was on scene quickly and followed the vehicle as it entered the Target parking lot. Two of the vehicle occupants left the vehicle and ran into the store. The driver continued north and was apprehended. The two that entered the store were arrested as they tried to leave the store as if nothing had happened. Evidence of the robbery, including the guns, were found discarded in the store.
